After the ceremonial opening of the Youth Parliament 2025, there was a quick briefing for the student participants. This blog post will cover a short summary of what has been discussed:
The student participants will have 3 days with a total of 4 debates spreaded over the days.
The representative will be chosen by all students within each team. When and how depends on the students of the teams themselves, as long as its before the final debate.
All 3 representatives will have 5 minutes to talk about one of the three subjects. The representative of each team will each give a 5 minute speech, afterwards they get 2 minutes after all representatives talked to say something they either missed or to debate against something the representatives of the opposing teams have stated.
So to summarize everything up, in total the representatives of each team will have 3x5 minutes, and then an additional 3x2 minutes to speak.
Another task has been given during the student briefing: Each team must make a short video of +/- 1 minute to show the jury what they have been doing and where they have been.
A task atop the short video is to make another SWOT analysis within the team, but instead of topics from their own country, it will have to include everything they’ve seen in Bjelovar. The point is to sketch a picture of this all.
During the debates there will be moderators moderating the process of debates to ensure everything develops smoothly.
After the student briefing ended everyone headed back to the hotel in order to catch the bus towards the next activity, which will be covered in a different blog post.
