Janssons Temptation from Sweden


Recipe

Put the oven on 175 degrees.
Scale and slice the onion into thin slices, fry it in a frying pan. Cut the potatoes in thin strips.
Layer potatoes, onion and anchovies, (save the anchovies liquid) in a greased oven tray. Potatoes in the bottom and on the top.
Boil the whipped cream and milk.
Pour the milk liquid and all of the anchovies’ liquid into the tray.
Sprinkle bread crumbs all over the Janssons temptation and put some butter on the top.
Put the temptation in the lower part of the ne for 1,5 to 2 hours. If the temptation starts to get too cooked then put some aluminum foil over it.
Let the temptation rest for 30-60 minutes before serving.

3 Big onions
1,5 KG Waxy potatoes
2 MSK Butter to cook with
3 Jars of anchowy fillets
3 DL Whipped cream
2 DL Milk
2 MSK Bread crumbs
