Fried sweet dumplings with hot honey and colored sprinkles (anesini), a symbolic and
representative dessert of Christmas; they are often made with the same dough and served together
for a rich and joyful Christmas to spend with the family
- Heat the oil in a pan together with the orange peels which must be removed after a
few minutes.
- Mix the oil (hot but not boiling) with flour, anise, grated citrus peel, sugar and
cinnamon and mix the mixture until you obtain a smooth and tender paste.
- Cut the dough into cubes and pass them one at a time on the back of a grater to
give it a striped appearance.
- Fry the cubes in a pan with oil. In another pan, heat the honey over a low heat until
it boils and pour in the purceddhruzzi, mixing everything together.
Serving tip:
Pour the purceddhruzzi into a dessert plate and decorate them with anicini or
toasted almonds. Leave to cool.
