Ris a´la Malta

Description

Ris a´la malta is a typical swedish Christmas dessert made of riceporridge with whipped cream, vanilla and fresh orange slices.


Recipe

1. Cook the rice with water and salt in a pot for about 10 minutes with the lid on.
2. Add the milk and let it simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes, still covered. Stir occasionally. Let the rice pudding cool down.
3. Whip the cream together with the powdered sugar and vanilla sugar.
4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cooled rice pudding.
For serving:
Peel the oranges using a knife. Cut them into smaller pieces and serve with the Ris à la Malta. Top with chopped almonds.
